It is best for those looking for truth to get hold on some guidance from books and scholars.

We have been busy innovating our Arabic book and conducting courses for the past 3 years. Here is our books;

Features of the books

Arabic shortcuts is a guided course by the author of this book. Small A5 size as a handy book to go anyway at any place to learn Arabic. Basic speaking with any terminology or confusing grammar. Just learn simple dialogue that can be applied at any situation. big fonts for easy reading. The book is explained by the author the use of simple phrase. and actually situation in the Arabic continent. Written in modern Arabic language.

Why do we release this version of Arabic speaking book?

We have been teaching Arabic for 10 years and found out the difficulties facing students. some books comprised of mixtures of grammar and reading materials. This Arabic shortcuts 1 & 2 comprise of 10 units with each unit having 3 topics of dialogues. That means you get 30 topics of speaking practice. Easy to follow with Arabic text, transliteration and English translation. consist about 2000 new vocabularies. and about 3 to 5 topics of simple grammar. lots of practice expressing the dialogues.

Disclaimer: However this is not the best book, there might be better books in the market, but the more books you have the better to expand your knowledge and vocabularies. The real problem is that; student who take up an Arabic course need to be committed, like memorizing new words, write it down and do a spelling test and not to forget speaking daily. Every thing you see and hear must be converted to Arabic. I thing this process will benefit you to pick up this language course.

What’s the price of one to one course?

Hmm, group course in class may be at 120 to 300 dollars a month. duration; about 2 hours- 4 hours once  a week. Personally I would say; it won’t work, because students will just put aside their books hoping to understand, by the time the second week comes in, he did not know anything about the previous lesson. Ha ha. by the next week he disappears into thin air. amazing feat isn’t it. Well a one on one course about 50-60 dollars one hour. let’s calculate for 150 hours of lesson, is equivalent to; hey let’s count, use the calculator. cling, the display just stated clearly the numbers.

What’s your advice?

Learning something is better than being idle, some humans have been wasting their precious time at not important things in life. Do something even if you think it is small, rather than just sitting watching Bollywood and the latest games, or nothing to do fiddling with the mobile phone. Let’s do something good for yourself and invest in something valuable. This book would not cost you like the one on one course. If you stand in the present of the LORD, you will be ask this question;

What you do with your money? You say; I purchased this small book to start understanding Arabic and know your holy book the Quran. It is a small investment in the day of judgement.

Tattoos-Should I tatoo in Islam

A question often asked is “Are tattoos haram in Islam ?”

The Answer is that permanent Tattoos are Haram in Islam and the Prophet of Allah has cursed the person who has tattoos done on them and the one on whom tattoos are done.

It is narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “May Allah curse the women who do tattoos and those for whom tattoos are done, those who pluck their eyebrows and those who file their teeth for the purpose of beautification and alter the creation of Allah.” (al-Bukhaari, al-Libaas, 5587; Muslim, al-Libaas, 5538).

It was narrated that Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cursed the one who does tattoos, the one who has a tattoo done, the one who consumes riba (usury or interest) and the one who pays it, and he forbade the price of a dog and the earnings of a prostitute, and he cursed the image-makers.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5032).

So having tattoos done and tattooing is a major sin. The reason for it being haram has not been given but some scholars believe that it may be because it is changing the creation of Allah.

Is there an urgent need to have tattoos?

You see sir, my group of friends has tattoos, so just to be in a group, I descided to have one done on my body. It looks great and cool. the trend goes on with tattoo shops providing the service. and girls tattoed their body to look sexy and trendy. hey that’s a good design.

But after sometime, we personally interviewed them, they stated: I wanted to eradicate this  tattoos. Why sir?

“It seems people glance at me in humiliation, and hatred my looks, second; it is difficult to find jobs, I was ousted out of jobs interviews, and shops would not employ me. because customers do not want to buy from me. I feel humiliated and disgrace. I wish I have never tattooed my body. but what is done, takes time to remedy, it is just like a scar in my life.”

The curse is not permanent but it is lifted when a person sincerely repents to Allah for this mistake. So one should not feel doomed, because they committed this mistake when they were in days of Jahilia (ignorance).
As for things which are not permanent such as henna painting on women’s hands, feet and so on, they are not regarded as tattoos and are allowed in Islam.

Tattoos in Islam for new Muslims
“Many times I received e-mails from non Muslims wishing to become Muslim and from New Muslims who had tattoos done when they were not Muslim. A person can become a Muslim even if they have had tattoos done to them or if they were involved in tattooing. You can do not have to remove them in order to become a Muslim. You can pray, do wudhu and do all your Islamic duties even if you have tattoos. This is because Islam erases all sins that a non Muslim committed before he or she became a Muslim.”

Allah stated;
“Except those who repent and believe (in Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds; for those, Allah will change their sins into good deeds, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful”
[al-Furqaan 25:70]

It was narrated that ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas said: When Allah put Islam in my heart, I went to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: “Give me your right hand so that I may give you my oath of allegiance.” So he held out his hand, but I held my hand back. He said, “What is the matter, O ‘Amr?” I said, “I want to make a condition.” He said, “What is your condition?” I said, “That I be forgiven.” He said, “Do you not know that Islam wipes out whatever came before it, and that hijrah (migration for the sake of Allah) wipes out whatever came before it, and that Hajj wipes out whatever came before it?”
(Narrated by Muslim, 121).

But Nobody Talks About The Side Effects

“Almost everybody these days has a tattoo, and nobody is talking about the side effects of ink deposits,” said senior author Dr. Andreas Luch of the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment in Berlin.

“There is no proof that these ink ingredients are safe, being injected into the body,” Luch told Reuters Health.

Between one and five percent of tattooed people suffer a bacterial infection, and some people can have allergic reactions to the ink, according to the report.

Those are short-term effects. It is harder to measure the long-term effects of ink since tattoo inks are in most countries classified as cosmetics, Luch said.

Since the inks are classified as cosmetics, their long-term toxicology can’t be tested in animals, Luch said. In his opinion, tattoo inks should be a completely different product category.

The skin barrier effectively keeps surface cosmetics out of the body, he said.

But tattoo ink is injected into living tissue, which contains blood vessels, nerves and immune cells.

“We need to assume that all of these ink ingredients, including preservatives, processing aids or whatever, will become systemically available in the body over time,” Luch said. “Regulation based on cosmetics is insufficient.”

Methods to remove tattoos
It is also allowed to remove tattoos using modern medicine such as laser surgery.

Q: I shall soon convert to Islam, However I want a tattoo of my new name to be placed in Arabic on my wrist is this allowed. My boyfriend said: it is only accepted in henna but I wish for it to be permanent. Please advise me, is it acceptable? I wish to get it done soon.

A: Dear sis, you have to keep in mind the fact that body piercing, tattooing, branding, etc. all fall in the category of unnecessary interference, alteration and mutilation of Allah’s creation. Therefore, no Muslim, who is conscious of his religion, should ever contemplate such activities.

In his well-known book, The Lawful and the Prohibited in Islam, the prominent Muslim scholar, Sheik Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, stated:

“Islam denounces excesses in beautifying oneself when it alters the physical features that Allah created him with. The Glorious Qur’an considers such alterations as inspired by Satan, who “…will command them (his devotees) to change what Allah has created…” (An-Nisa’: 119)

Tattooing is one of those excesses. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is reported to have cursed the tattooer and the tattooed. (Reported by Muslim)

Tattooing permanently disfigures the face and other parts of the body with colored pigment and repulsive designs. Some Arabs, especially women, are in the habit of tattooing large areas of their bodies. People of certain religious sects tattoo pictures of their deities or religious rituals on their hands and chests. The pain and agony that the person experiences from the needles piercing skin add to these images. Because of all of this, both the tattooer and the one who is tattooed have been cursed.”
